Payment

Once you have confirmed you want to purchase the package, we will invoice you.  Payment is required as follows:

  • A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure the booking.
  • For a luxury wine experience (without accommodation) payment for the balance is required 72 hours (3 days) before the package commences.
  • For a package involving accommodation, payment of the balance of the package will normally be required 30 days before your actual stay commences, because that’s when we need to pay the accommodation provider.  Sometimes it may need to be paid in full more than 30 days before, particularly for luxury lodges.  Some luxury lodges can require full payment up to 114 days in advance over the busy holiday period, before they will confirm a booking.
  • Payment can be made by bank transfer or direct credit, or by credit card (processing fees will apply to credit card payments, as set out on the invoice).

Our commission

The price of the package includes our commission, which is normally roughly 15% for a bespoke package.  This is the industry standard and this covers:

  • In creating a package for you, whether it is a package listed on our website or a bespoke package, we spend a huge amount of time researching the different options available in terms of accommodation, activities, transport and so forth, and we compare the prices and the benefits of each.
  • We liaise with all the different accommodation providers, wine/adventure tour operators, drivers, restaurants, cellar doors and helicopter pilots, firstly, to create the package, and then throughout your stay, so as to deliver a seamless holiday on your specified dates.
  • We have exclusive Escape NZ activities which we have created, for instance we have exclusive wine experiences, where we engage and train the wine tour operators and manage the relationships with the winemakers and restaurants, helicopter pilots, drivers and so forth.
  • Our overheads in running a business, including paying employees and contractors, accounting services, tax, insurance, maintaining a website, social media, advertising and so forth.
